accounting clerk

Rice Group is looking for a full-time *Accounting Clerk* in our Markham office. This position will be responsible for assisting with all functions including but not limited to Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable. Other duties will include general accounting tasks and providing clerical backup when required.

_*Roles and Responsibilities of the Position:*_

*Accounts Receivable*

• Prepare Invoices for all construction projects/jobs
• Receive all payments for outstanding invoices
• Communicate professionally with customers regarding payments, outstanding invoices & inquiries

*Accounts Payable*

• Enter invoices and ensure accurate costs codes are entered
• Process payment
• Assisting with purchase orders when necessary
• Communicating with vendors regarding discrepancies and payment status

*General Accounting:*

• Perform monthly bank reconciliations
• Assist in the reporting of HST
• Managing expense reimbursements
• Enter visa statements & reconcile ending balance monthly
• Maintain accurate & organized financial records and documentation for both AR & AP
• Other office duties as required

• Ability to problem solve
• A positive attitude and friendly personality
• Must be a team player with excellent communication skills
• Be able to work with little supervision
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, excel, QuickBooks & Sage
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
