Business Analyst

Duties & Responsibilities

• Collaborate with business leaders, product owners, project managers, and technical teams to identify business needs, objectives, and improvement opportunities.
• Elicit, analyze, document, and validate functional and non-functional requirements through interviews, workshops, process reviews, and data analysis.
• Translate business requirements into clear user stories, use cases, workflows, acceptance criteria, and solution specifications.
• Map current-state and future-state processes, identify gaps, and recommend practical solutions that improve efficiency, quality, and customer outcomes.
• Serve as a liaison between business and technology teams, ensuring shared understanding of scope, priorities, dependencies, and expected outcomes.
• Support solution design, testing, implementation, and change management activities throughout the project lifecycle.
• Develop test scenarios, coordinate user acceptance testing, track defects, and confirm that delivered solutions meet approved requirements.
• Analyze business and operational data, identify trends, and prepare reports, dashboards, and presentations to support decision-making.
• Maintain requirements traceability, process documentation, decision logs, and other project artifacts.
• Identify project risks, issues, and impacts, and communicate recommendations clearly to stakeholders.
• Facilitate meetings and workshops, document decisions and action items, and follow up with accountable owners.
• Contribute to continuous improvement by promoting consistent business analysis standards, tools, and best practices.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, information systems, computer science, finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience as a Business Analyst or in a comparable business analysis role.
• Demonstrated experience gathering requirements, mapping processes, conducting gap analyses, and supporting technology or business transformation projects.
• Strong knowledge of business analysis methodologies, software development life cycle practices, and Agile or hybrid delivery approaches.
• Proficiency with requirements and collaboration tools such as Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Visio, or equivalent platforms.
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data, evaluate options, and develop evidence-based recommendations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Proven facilitation, stakeholder management, documentation, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams.
• Certification such as CBAP, CCBA, PMI-PBA, or an Agile credential is considered an asset.
