Role Description The CDL School Bus Driver is responsible for safely transporting students to and from schools and related activities in Toms River, NJ. This on-site role includes operating a school bus along assigned routes, following all traffic laws and company safety procedures, and conducting pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.

The driver will assist students with boarding and exiting the bus as needed, maintain appropriate behavior and a calm environment on the bus, and communicate clearly and professionally with school staff, parents, and the company dispatcher.

Additional duties include keeping the bus clean, reporting any mechanical or safety issues promptly, completing required logs and reports, and participating in periodic safety and training meetings. This is a full-time role.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial vehicle operation skills, including Truck Driving and safe operation of school buses.
• Proficiency in Defensive Driving practices and adherence to all traffic and safety regulations.
• Excellent Communication and Customer Service skills for interacting with students, parents, and school personnel.
• Valid CDL Class B license with appropriate endorsements for school bus driving.
• Clean driving record and ability to pass background checks and drug screenings as required by regulations.
• Knowledge of local routes and ability to manage time and schedules effectively.
• Capacity to remain calm and professional in stressful or emergency situations.
• High school diploma or equivalent; prior school bus or commercial driving experience is preferred.
