CNC (computer numerical control) machinist

Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. Machine tool technology/machinist. or equivalent experience. Work setting: General manufacturing. Oil and gas industry. Tasks: Compute dimensions and tolerances of machine parts. Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables. Set up and adjust production machineries/tools. Document and report deviations from specifications and tolerances.

Maintain inspection records and complete inspection reports. Verify dimensions of parts machined using precise measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers). Set up and operate conventional and computer controlled machine tools. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Machinist Trade Certification. Measuring tools: Micrometers. Callipers. Calibre. Gauges. Verniers.

Equipment and machinery experience: Automatic lathes. Use computer numerical control (CNC) machines. Transportation/travel information: Own transportation. Public transportation is not available.
