Commercial Auto Underwriter

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Commercial Auto Underwriter based in Canada.

As a Commercial Auto Underwriter, you will manage and grow a portfolio of medium to large, complex commercial automobile risks across regional and national markets.

You will combine technical underwriting expertise with strong broker and client relationships to identify, assess, and secure profitable business opportunities.

The role offers significant autonomy, with responsibility for new business, renewals, pricing, risk analysis, and portfolio development within delegated authority limits.

You will work closely with brokers, agents, clients, claims teams, and sales professionals to deliver thoughtful and commercially sound underwriting decisions.

Your expertise will help shape account strategy, strengthen market relationships, and support sustainable portfolio growth.

You will also contribute as a subject matter expert while mentoring junior colleagues and sharing underwriting knowledge across the team.

This is a permanent opportunity with a hybrid work model and occasional travel for strategic broker, agent, and client meetings.
