Role Description This is a full-time on-site Electrician role based in Christchurch. The Electrician will install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment across residential, commercial, and industrial sites. Day-to-day tasks include wiring and cable installation, testing and inspecting electrical installations, diagnosing faults, and performing troubleshooting and repairs.

The role also involves reading and interpreting technical drawings, following safety regulations and company procedures, and completing accurate documentation of work performed. The Electrician will work closely with other team members, coordinate with clients and site managers, and ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and to a high standard.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of electricity principles and safe electrical practices.
• Proficiency in general electrical work, including installation, wiring, and system setup.
• Experience with maintenance & repair of electrical systems and equipment.
• Effective troubleshooting skills for identifying and resolving electrical faults.
• Background or training in electrical engineering or a closely related technical field.
• Recognized electrical trade qualification, license, or certification appropriate for the region.
• Solid understanding of electrical codes, standards, and health and safety regulations.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and documentation.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
• Physical ability to perform on-site work, including working at heights and in confined spaces when required.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to different job sites around Christchurch.
