Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience. Work setting: On-site customer service. Commercial. Industrial. Residential. Various locations. Tasks: Inspect, measure and mark surfaces to be covered. Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements . Prepare flooring plans and scheduling. Prepare tenders and quotations.

Measure, cut and install resilient floor coverings. Inspect and repair damaged floor coverings. Conduct moisture, ph, temperature and other tests prior to flooring installations. Estimate costs and materials. Prepare floors for installations. Remove existing floor coverings and contaminants. Install resilient stair components (special effects for the visually impaired).

Install materials on counter tops and raised platforms. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Physically demanding. Handling heavy loads. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Ability to distinguish between colours. Hand-eye co-ordination. Personal suitability: Client focus. Efficient interpersonal skills. Judgement. Organized. Team player. Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years.
