Forward Deployment Engineer

ABOUT THE ROLE

Join a small, fast-moving team building AI-powered customer communication software. You will work across product, engineering, and customer deployments to bring AI applications into production, keep them reliable, and turn deployment learnings into improvements to the product.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Translate customer requirements into robust implementation plans and production-ready configurations.
• Lead deployments, including workflows, data flows, prompts, and guardrails for AI applications.
• Build integrations with third-party systems using APIs, webhooks, and authentication methods such as OAuth and API keys.
• Write and test glue code and small-to-medium features, with appropriate monitoring and logging.
• Debug live issues across calls, workflows, and data, and deploy fixes in production.
• Create reusable templates, deployment playbooks, and practices that make implementations repeatable.
• Share recurring customer needs and product gaps with concrete recommendations for the product team.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• Several years of experience translating customer requirements into production implementations.
• Hands-on experience building and operating production LLM applications, including prompting, tool use, RAG, evaluation, and understanding failure modes.
• Strong coding skills for integrations and features, along with experience testing, monitoring, and logging production systems.
• Cloud fundamentals, including deployment, observability, and production debugging.
• Practical experience with APIs, webhooks, authentication, and third-party integrations.
• German proficiency at B2 level or higher. Exceptional candidates without German proficiency may be considered for escalation.
• Experience in a startup engineering environment is valued. Voice or telephony integrations, TypeScript or Python, SQL, automation tools, and privacy considerations are relevant additional experience.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Salary range: €60,000 to €90,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is not available.
