Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. Mechanical engineering/mechanical technology/technician. or equivalent experience. Tasks: Install machinery. Repair and maintain machinery. Assist in preparing design, drawings and specifications. Assist in the design of moulds, tools, dies, jigs and fixtures.

Carry out a limited range of mechanical tests and analyses of machines, components and materials. Computer-aided design (CAD). Test machines and equipment. Assist in building and testing prototypes to specifications. Read blueprints and drawings. Computer and technology knowledge: MS Excel. MS Outlook. MS Word. SolidWorks software. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Work under pressure. Attention to detail.

Combination of sitting, standing, walking. Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots. Screening questions: Do you have experience working in this field?.
