payroll supervisor

Education: Bachelor's degree. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Management. Tasks: Schedule work. Train workers in duties and policies. Prepare and submit reports. Ensure accuracy of financial transactions. Co-ordinate, assign and review work. Co-ordinate activities with other work units or departments.

Administer and deliver the negotiated collective agreement including terms and conditions of employment between union and employer. Reconcile accounts. Prepare payroll. Prepare budgets and payrolls. Internal audit. Inform employees about payroll matters and benefit plans. Ensure accuracy of completed time sheets, payroll and other summaries. Calculate billing charges. Calculate pension benefits.

Calculate and prepare cheques for payroll. Oversee payroll administration. Prepare reports and audit findings. Prepare and balance period-end reports and reconcile issued payrolls to bank statements. Prepare statements of earnings for employees, indicating gross and net salaries and deductions such as taxes, union dues, garnishments and insurance and pension plans. Calculate premiums. Supervision: 3-4 people.

Payroll clerks. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Canadian Payroll Association's (CPA) payroll compliance practitioner (PCP). Computer and technology knowledge: Automatic data processing (ADP). MS Excel. MS Outlook. MS Word. SharePoint. Spreadsheet. Weather forecasting experience: Aviation. Security and safety: Basic security clearance. Criminal record check. Credit check.
