Senior II Software Engineer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior II Software Engineer based in Canada.

In this remote role, you will design and build high-performance backend systems that support critical platform infrastructure and deliver reliable services at scale. You will lead the architecture and development of low-latency REST APIs, optimize database performance, and strengthen the resilience and security of distributed services.

Working primarily with Python, Flask, and SQLAlchemy, you will help establish engineering standards and improve the quality of backend solutions. You will collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to define API contracts, integration patterns, and scalable architectural approaches.

The position combines hands-on technical delivery with architectural leadership, design reviews, and mentorship for engineers at different career stages. You will also explore modern AI tooling and agentic workflows while contributing to secure, observable, and fault-tolerant systems in a cloud-based environment.
