About the job
About INTEC Energy Solutions
We deliver some of the world's most significant renewable energy projects. From utility-scale Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) to high-voltage infrastructure, we've built across more than 20 countries, and our secured project pipeline now exceeds 5GW. As we grow our AU/NZ procurement function, we're looking for someone who wants to grow with it.
Role Overview
This isn't a "raise the PO and move on" role. As our Senior Procurement Specialist, you'll own the sourcing of the electrical, civil and mechanical equipment that gets utility-scale Solar PV and BESS projects built. You'll run RFQs, negotiate the deals, and make sure the right materials land on site at the right time, at the right price and to the right standard.
Based in our Brisbane office and reporting to the Procurement Manager (AU/NZ), you'll work across multiple projects in Australia and New Zealand, partnering with Project Directors, Engineering, Commercial & Contracts, Construction, Finance and our Philippines Procurement/Shared Services team.
You'll be working with a diverse and fast-moving team, so we're looking for someone commercially sharp, technically confident and comfortable negotiating with strategic suppliers. We also want someone who will help build a great team environment and culture, mentoring junior team members and bringing positive energy and a collaborative approach to everything they do.
Why Join INTEC?
- Contribute to renewable energy infrastructure that powers the transition to cleaner energy across Australia and New Zealand.
- Your ideas will shape our sourcing strategies, preferred supplier agreements and procurement processes.
- Join an international organisation with a strong pipeline and long-term career paths.
- Enjoy a competitive salary package, private health insurance support, two-days WFH, mindfulness and wellbeing perks.
- Collaborate daily with experienced engineering, project, construction, commercial and finance teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive strategic procurement: support and implement sourcing strategies that deliver cost savings, efficiency and strong supplier performance.
- Run the RFQ process: prepare and issue RFQs, analyse quotations, complete technical and commercial evaluations, and negotiate pricing and delivery terms.
- Manage suppliers and contracts: build strategic supplier relationships, lead negotiations on contracts, payment terms and lead times, and run performance reviews.
- Keep delivery on track: issue purchase orders, track deliveries and align procurement with construction schedules to hit on-time delivery targets.
- Work with the project team: interpret electrical, civil and mechanical drawings and specifications, and coordinate First Article Inspections to make sure quality standards are met.
- Support tenders: provide pricing insights and cost analysis to Business Development and Estimating, working within approved budgets and delegated authority.
- Make things better: spot inefficiencies, recommend practical fixes, share lessons learned from post-project reviews, and mentor junior team members.
About You
- 8+ years' procurement experience in the construction, electrical or renewable energy sector. Renewable energy experience is highly advantageous.
- Strong expertise in RFQs, cost analysis, supplier negotiation and contract management.
- Experience procuring electrical installation components, SCADA systems, structural materials and mechanical components.
- Proficiency in ERP systems for procurement management, and familiarity with AutoCAD for reviewing designs.
- Ability to interpret ground reports, structural load requirements (wind, snow) and technical specifications.
- Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills, with strong organisational skills to prioritise against project demands
