Senior Protection Engineer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Protection Engineer based in the United States.

The Senior Protection Engineer will serve as a technical authority in power system protection, short-circuit analysis, and protection-system modeling, supporting utility clients and complex grid infrastructure projects. This role combines advanced engineering analysis with technical leadership across transmission systems, substations, renewable generation facilities, and generator interconnections.

You will develop and validate protection models, assess system performance, and recommend solutions that strengthen grid reliability and safety. Working closely with utilities, engineering teams, and project stakeholders, you will guide studies from initial planning through implementation and commissioning.

The position also offers opportunities to mentor engineers, improve technical standards, and contribute to regulatory compliance. This opportunity offers hybrid or fully remote flexibility, with periodic travel and field engagement depending on project needs.
