Staff Engineer - Pricing

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Staff Engineer – Pricing based in Portugal.

This is a high-impact staff-level engineering role focused on building the pricing infrastructure behind a modern energy transaction platform. You’ll own the backend and data-heavy systems responsible for pricing real energy contracts, where correctness directly affects financial outcomes and performance builds customer trust.

You’ll shape a new Pricing API from initial architecture through production readiness and eventual third-party access. The role combines backend engineering, numerical systems, data, reliability, and product thinking in a highly consequential domain.

You’ll also lead significant architectural decoupling, establish engineering standards, and influence technical direction across teams without relying on formal management authority. The environment is remote-first, collaborative, and focused on using modern AI-assisted engineering workflows to increase team productivity.
