Technical Designer

The Workshop LA has several roles open in Technical Design right now. These roles range across womens RTW, denim, knits, bottoms and private label/juniors . They are onsite 5 days a week and based in Los Angeles. All candidates should be based full time in the LA area and be able to work onsite 5 days/week.

You will join a growing team where design, sourcing and production work side by side, and where fit and construction details matter. It is a fast-paced, collaborative environment with plenty of room to take ownership of your categories.

What you will be doing

• Managing the technical development of garments from initial sample through production approval
• Running fit sessions, documenting feedback and communicating clear fit comments to vendors
• Building and maintaining tech packs, including construction details, measurements and grading
• Reviewing prototypes and production samples for quality, fit and spec compliance
• Partnering with design, merchandising and sourcing teams to keep timelines and product standards on track

What they are looking for

• Previous technical design experience in one or more of the following: womens RTW, denim, knits, bottoms or private label/juniors
• Strong knowledge of garment construction, fit and pattern making principles
• Proficiency in tech pack creation and measurement/grading specs
• Comfort working directly with overseas and domestic vendors
• Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple styles at once
