Web Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Web Engineer Employment Type: Full-time Location: Onsite | District 3, Ho Chi Minh City

1. Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Web Engineer to build and maintain scalable, high-performance web applications with real-time functionality and complex user interfaces. You will collaborate closely with backend engineers, product managers, and the Engineering Manager to deliver reliable, user-focused features that meet both technical and business goals. The Company may require employees to learn and adopt new technologies, tools, or methodologies based on business needs over time.

This role requires strong frontend engineering expertise, solid architectural judgment, and the ability to independently drive projects from implementation through production support.

2. Key Job Responsibilities Frontend Development

• Build and maintain modern web applications using React and TypeScript.
• Develop clean, reusable, and modular frontend components.
• Deliver secure, scalable, and high-performance frontend solutions.
• Integrate frontend applications with GraphQL, WebSocket, and backend APIs.

Architecture & Technical Ownership

• Make sound frontend architectural and technical decisions.
• Improve application performance, maintainability, and scalability.
• Establish and enforce engineering best practices and coding standards.
• Take ownership of frontend delivery and production stability.

Testing & Debugging

• Write and maintain frontend tests using Cypress or similar testing frameworks.
• Investigate production issues, identify root causes, and implement reliable fixes.
• Ensure application quality through debugging, monitoring, and continuous improvement.

Collaboration & Mentorship

• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, standups, retrospectives, and estimations.
• Collaborate closely with product, design, and backend teams to deliver features efficiently.
• Conduct code reviews and provide actionable technical feedback.
• Mentor junior engineers through pairing, guidance, and knowledge sharing.
• Clearly communicate technical decisions and tradeoffs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

4. Requirements

• 8+ years of experience building production-grade web applications.
• Strong expertise in JavaScript and TypeScript.
• Deep experience with React and modern frontend state management patterns.
• Solid understanding of scalable frontend architecture and performance optimization.
• Hands-on experience with frontend testing frameworks such as Cypress.
• Experience building or integrating backend services using Node.js and Express.js.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of deliverables.
• Experience mentoring and supporting other engineers.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Good English communication skills (written and verbal) to work effectively with international teams.
